CHUCK SICS SHARES DYNAMIC DEBUT SINGLE + VIDEO ‘REDO’

Wavering between floaty psychedelia and punchy indie rock, today multi-instrumentalist and sonic shaman CHUCK SICSarrives armed with his track REDO, with the talented artist traversing unrequited love alongside helming the entire creative process from start to finish for his debut single.

Setting the scene with hazy sonic warmth and lyrical rumination, REDO kicks off with CHUCK SICS musing: “As the sun falls down onto my face I keep walking / And as the breeze flows through my open wound I keep talking”, driven by a charismatic nod to influences that span Radiohead, Tame Impala and Pixies. And alongside the dreamlike wonderland woven throughout, REDO also centres around a poignant yet inspiring narrative, as CHUCK SICS explains, The song is about the aftermath of confessing love for a friend who doesn’t share those feelings, and wishing everyone could forget it happened. Wishing you could disappear, or do it over again. The shame of rejection surely drives this need to forget it ever happened, but in the song I also tried to address that the way I dealt with the rejection at that time had not been fair. So the song is also about the pitfalls of self-victimising. Wallowing in sorrow and feeling as though everyone is out to get you – you manufacture this reality to justify your attitude, when really it’s your attitude that’s the problem. It’s a pretty high school problem, and I wish I’d been mature enough to handle the situation differently.”

Writing, performing, recording, producing and mixing REDO entirely on his own, CHUCK SICS recorded the track in his home studio, and also sampled a friend’s drum kit to bring the crisp beats to life. An extremely gifted multi-instrumentalist, REDO sparkles with CHUCK SICS’ vibrant delivery throughout, from its percolating bassline through to its woozy synths and breezy vocals. “Everything on the song is all recorded in my house, rather haphazardly,” shares CHUCK SICS. “But I’m happy with how it turned out.”

Picking up the trumpet in primary school, CHUCK SICS soon moved on (because it hurt my face,” he reveals) to piano at the age of seven. Following in the footsteps of his older sister who also played piano, CHUCK SICS attributes the piano as his first official instrument, ultimately opening the floodgates to guitar at the age of 12, followed by bass, singing and, as he explains, the occasional foray into drums. Before I picked up a guitar I wanted to be a concert pianist,” he says, “and overnight I abandoned that dream and wanted to be a rock god guitar virtuoso from the 70s. I remember thinking I was too old to start learning a whole new instrument, so I didn’t even bother for the longest time until eventually I caved. Bass was a natural evolution of that – as soon as I was friends with someone who owned a bass, I gave it a try and it was pretty much like guitar, provided I played with a pick. I did eventually get relatively comfortable with fingerstyle playing but that was tough. Throughout all of this I had played drums at friends’ houses occasionally, basically whenever I got the chance, but unfortunately I’ve never really had the time to develop that skill. It’s a shame because that’s my favourite instrument of them all. As for singing, I had done a bit in choirs through school but never seriously considered myself a singer until I realised I would have to sing the songs I was writing. In my first band I thought I could be the guitarist who secretly wrote the whole song. I was so terrified of singing by myself in front of people I’m amazed I willingly do it these days. Never thought that would happen.”

Surrounded by a love of music and creativity growing up, music would soon become a way of life for CHUCK SICS, culminating in 2025 with his new track, REDO, with plenty more tunes set to land before the year is out.

“It feels good, and a little surreal,” says CHUCK SICS of finally releasing REDO into the world. “This song has been kicking around for quite a while, so it felt good hearing it mastered for the first time.”

REDO is out today.

FLYNN GURRY SHARES ROUSING NEW SINGLE + VIDEO ‘DON’T STOP DREAMING’

An inspired and energetic folk pop bop, today marks the arrival of a brand new single, Don’t Stop Dreaming, from Aussie singer-songwriter Flynn Gurry, also armed with an accompanying new music video. Penned during some post tour blues, Don’t Stop Dreaming also comes ahead of a special East Coast run of shows through June, with Flynn set to visit Melbourne, Warrnambool, Sydney and Brisbane next month for his first ever headline tour.

Evoking the sparkling melodies of Vance Joy and the exuberance of Mumford & Sons, Don’t Stop Dreaming lyrically opens with introspection before blossoming into a soaring chorus, with Flynn proclaiming, “Don’t stop dreaming now / Don’t stop dreaming now / Keep that fire burning / Let it all pour out”.

Produced by Joel Quartermain (Eskimo Joe, Meg Mac, Dan Sultan) and Edwin White (Vance Joy, Amy Shark, Fergus James), Don’t Stop Dreaming marks Flynn’s first single to be released via his new home at ABC Music, while also ultimately detailing the highs and lows of life on the road – and finding the spark to keep moving forward when the post tour blues inevitably come. This song was written post-comedown from my first big tour,” shares Flynn. “The last show I had played on that tour is still one of my most memorable shows and I had begun writing the lyrics in the green room whilst the headline band was playing. Feelings of bittersweet. There was a period after that tour where I spent a lot of my time wondering what was next because essentially, I had ticked off a very important bucket list moment – and the chorus came from this place. Ultimately this song is a reminder to myself to not stop dreaming, reminding me to keep pushing and not forget the little person with his guitar just wanting to play the fuck out of it in front of people.”

Co-written by Brad Arthur, mixed by Phil Threlfall (Ed Sheeran, Pierce Brothers) and mastered by Andrei Eremin, Don’t Stop Dreaming also brought Flynn creatively together with Michael Peters (Nike, Alfa Romeo) and Patrick Pierce (Cat Empire, Alice Ivy) on the visual side, with the end result organically emerging during the photo shoot for the single’s cover artwork. The concept for the music video came to Michael and myself as we were shooting the single cover which is me running up a hill,” Flynn explains. “The narrative of the clip became about being playful and remembering our dreaming inner-child. My nephew, who looks very much like me when I was younger, portrays a younger Flynn in the music video. The young self is reminding the present self not to lose that playful energy and curiosity that that got you excited about life in the first place.”

Hailing from Warrnambool in Victoria, Flynn Gurry has spent the past few years rapidly making waves in the Australian music industry, most recently signing to Cult Artists for bookings and Woolstore Music, the management company helmed by beloved indie folk duo Pierce Brothers, and also inking a deal with ABC Records. Following a remarkable few years supporting the likes of Ian Moss, King Stingray, Ash Grunwald and Kim Churchill, Flynn also won the triple j Unearthed One Night Stand competition in 2024, which saw him perform alongside G Flip, Ruel, What So Not, Thelma Plum and more at their event in Warrnambool. Shortly after, Flynn became a triple j Unearthed feature artist, going on to support The Dreggs on a national tour, and closed out 2024 performing at Beyond The Valley Festival. And with 2025 now firmly in full swing, Flynn has already ticked off a national tour with Pierce Brothers, was named Port Fairy Folk Festival’s ‘Emerging Artist of the Year’, and has also supported The Dreggs, Kim Churchill, The 502s, and DICE.

With word of mouth around his live shows and his ongoing releases turning heads, 2025 will also find Flynn levelling up to tick off his first ever headline tour this June, kicking off on June 6 in Northcote before heading to Warrnambool and Sydney, and concluding proceedings in Brisbane on June 21. “This will be my first ever tour, so I’m really excited to be playing headline shows in major cities that I’ve not headlined in before,” enthuses Flynn. “I’ve been touring quite a lot the last 18 months opening up for some of the best live acts in the country and feel like I’ve been able to learn so much about connecting with your audience and putting on a great show. Audiences can expect lots of songs, stories and 12 string guitar.”

And before Flynn’s headline run next month, the world has plenty of time to fall head over heels for Don’t Stop Dreaming; an inspiring and relatable cut that also showcases Flynn at his most realised form to date.

“This feels like such a MOMENT in my career,” says Flynn. “I am really excited for everyone to hear this track because I feel it is my strongest work to date, and I also had the best time making it with such incredible people. The writing of DSD also happened for me at such an important time as it was right after I had finished my first big tour and while I was experiencing the post tour blues wondering what was next this song kind of fell into my lap and has become the inspiration to just keep going and keep dreaming.

“At the heart I love telling stories, I also love trying to bring lots of energy into a space even if it’s just me and my acoustic guitar.”

Don’t Stop Dreaming is out today via ABC Music.

Hot off the back of a monumental second year of his OUT 2 LUNCH festival last weekend, today FISHER is pleased to announce a special pop-up show with Grammy-nominated producer, DJ and label head CHRIS LAKE: FISHER B2B CHRIS LAKE SYDNEY POP-UP, a one-off and exclusive performance set to take place at a secret venue in Sydney this Saturday May 10. An artist who has performed to record-breaking and sold-out crowds throughout his career to date, FISHER will join forces with longtime collaborator and fellow party-starter CHRIS LAKE for this intimate Sydney show at a location set to be revealed later this week.

Tickets for the FISHER B2B CHRIS LAKE Sydney pop-up show go onsale to those who have registered on Friday 9 May @12:30pm AEST. Register now https://laylo.com/chrislake/Sydney_popup.

FISHER and CHRIS LAKE are dominating the ARIA Club Charts, currently holding the #1 and #2 spots respectively. FISHER’s latest single, Stay, continues its impressive reign, marking seven consecutive weeks at the top of the chart, while LAKE’s single Ease My Mind (with Abel Balder) has held firm at the top end of the charts for an impressive eleven weeks. Their chart-topping success underscores both artists’ continued influence and popularity within the global electronic music scene.

Following the incredible debut of OUT 2 LUNCH festival in 2024, global superstar FISHER returned once again to his hometown in 2025 last weekend for the festival’s sophomore edition, transforming the Broadwater Parklands into a dazzling display of music, togetherness and Aussie good vibes across two sold out days. Bringing together over 30,000 fans across Saturday May 3 and Sunday May 4, OUT 2 LUNCH featured a headlining slot each night by FISHER himself, joining CHRIS LAKE, Patrick Topping, DJ Boring, Noizu, Hayden James, Jake Smith, Little Fritter, Shimmy and more. Once again firmly displaying FISHER’s insatiable performance alongside a stellar curated lineup, OUT 2 LUNCH also brought a much-needed economic boost to the Gold Coast, with the city still working to regroup amongst the ongoing effects of Cyclone Alfred. With $54 million injected into the region, 1,500 jobs created, over 200 local business engaged for the event, and accommodation sold out across the city, Australia’s biggest dance party may have been forced to relocate from the iconic Gold Coast sand setting due to the cyclone damage in the area, but there was no dulling the festivities across the historic weekend. And while thousands flocked to “follow the Fish”, delivering one of the biggest dance events ever witnessed on the Gold Coast, OUT 2 LUNCH also once again donated $1 from each ticket sale to charity, with $20 also donated from each guest list and comp ticket, ultimately raising over $30,000 for the Make A Wish Foundation.

A charismatic superstar, known for his sense of humour and dynamic DJ sets, FISHER has rapidly become one of the most in-demand talents in the dance music world worldwide. From his Grammy nomination in 2019, courtesy of the monster hit Losing It, currently sitting at half a billion streams and counting, through to releasing hit albums, snagging international airplay, viral TikTok tracks, multiple award nominations, and performances at some of the most iconic stages across the globe, FISHER’s one-of-a-kind personality and performance is truly the stuff of legend; and the legend continues to powerfully explode with each new release and live set. Whether collaborating with Kita Alexander on the dance anthem Atmosphere or with UK rapper Flowdan on Boost Up, reworking Gotye’s iconic 2011 hit Somebody That I Used To Know, or performing major global headline shows, hosting his own annual festival OUT 2 LUNCH on the Gold Coast, and appearing onstage at Coachella with CHRIS LAKE as part of their Under Construction project, FISHER knows what it takes to get the party started for his millions of fans, there is definitely no sign of this modern dance phenomenon slowing down anytime soon.

English-born and Los-Angeles based, producer, DJ and label head CHRIS LAKE is renowned for his dexterity and electrifying performances, occupying the rare middle ground between dance music’s underground and mainstream realms. No stranger to working alongside FISHER, both via their joint project Under Construction and also most recently whipping up a frenzy onstage as part of the 2025 OUT 2 LUNCH festival on the Gold Coast last weekend, CHRIS LAKE will continue to share the Aussie love while he’s in town this week, performing two special headline sideshows in Melbourne this Friday May 9, and in Sydney this Saturday May 10. CHRIS LAKE is a driving force behind redefining American’s house music scene in the post-EDM age and initially snapped heads with a string of #1 singles in the late 2000s before going on to launch his record label Black Book Records in 2017. A regular fixture on Billboard’s Hit Dance/Electronic Songs chart, CHRIS LAKE has generated millions of streams, co-curated a release with Skrillex, = headlined EDC Las Vegas and Coachella, was nominated for a Grammy for his deadmau5 collab on the album 4×4=12, and routinely brings the house down with his insatiable live performances. CHRIS LAKE is set to release his album Chemistry on July 11.
