TINA ARENA WOWS AUDIENCES WITH SURPRISE SPLENDOUR PERFORMANCE WITH CLIENT LIAISON

Ahead of her upcoming Australian tour, national treasure Tina Arena has stunned crowds at Splendour In The Grass with a surprise performance alongside Triple j faves Client Liaison last night. Dressed by Cappellazzo Couture and performing the Client Liaison track in which she features – A Foreign Affair, her global smash Sorrento Moon and Womack & Womack’s Teardrops to a crowd of 25,000 punters on the main stage, Tina has yet again cemented her place as a diverse Australian pop icon, with her reign now spanning decades.

Stepping off the stage, Tina beamed, “What a thrill, what an incredible audience and what a band… loved every second of performing at Splendour with Client Liaison!”

And fans will need to get in quick to secure their tickets to her upcoming Innocence To Understanding national tour in September/October, with the first show at The Tivoli already completely sold out, and second shows added in Brisbane and Melbourne.

For 40 years, Tina’s music has been a constant within Australian pop culture, and the soundtrack to countless lives both on our shores and across the world. Every album she has ever released has gone gold, platinum or multi-platinum. Remarkable as she is, Tina is not one to take the easy route, choosing to diversify her craft and experiment within different genres throughout her wildly successful career. Not only has she collaborated with beatmakers Client Liaison on their Diplomatic Immunity album track, A Foreign Affair, she has also immersed herself in the classical world which has seen her tour with Andrea Bocelli, performed on stage with Donna Summer and Stevie Wonder, enjoyed top club hits with collaborations with Tiesto and the world’s biggest DJs, as well as her popular albums in French further propelling her onto the global stage.

This continues to be Tina’s year, with her keynote at BIGSOUND being announced; industry heavyweights and punters alike will all be able to learn something from this tenacious, well-spoken star. A keynote at BIGSOUND, a festival well known for uncovering the next-best-things in Australian music, is testament to Tina’s ever-present finger on the pulse.

Presented by Smooth FM and Foxtel, Innocence To Understanding is the hotly anticipated tour to celebrate Tina and her extensive discography, kicking off in September. Fans will be treated to live performances of all her hits, and what a catalogue to choose from: Sorrento Moon, I Need Your Body, Chains, Wasn’t It Good, Heaven Help My Heart, You Set Fire To My Life, Only Lonely, Burn, Now I Can Dance and so many more. GRINSPOON’S 20TH ANNIVERSARY DELUXE EDITION OF ‘GUIDE TO BETTER LIVING’ IS OUT TODAY

Iconic Aussie rockers Grinspoon have today released their highly anticipated, 20th Anniversary deluxe edition of the album that propelled their careers into the stratosphere, Guide To Better Living. Fittingly, the release lands on the day they are set to kick off their upcoming national tour which is now almost completely sold out, as fans clamour to secure their tickets. Hockey Dad are already on board as main support for the epic tour, and today Grinspoon are chuffed to announce their additional supports My Echo, Good Boy, Royal Chant and The Dead Love who will be jumping on the road for a bunch of shows each.

Having just performed in the coveted slot at the State of Origin on Wednesday, Grinners are busier than ever – and their fans cannot get enough. Tickets to their Tivoli Theatre show sold out in just thirty minutes after going on sale, and now more than half the tour is sold out, with 20 of the 31 shows already certified sell-outs and very limited tickets are still available to all other shows.

To correspond with the tour, the accompanying expanded, multi-format reissue of Guide To Better Living is available from today. The Grinspoon-curated 20th Anniversary edition of Guide To Better Living sees the original 16-track album expand to a mammoth 49 track feast of rarities, live tracks and unreleased recordings. The album also appears on vinyl for the very first time in the form of a limited edition red vinyl pressing, coupling the original album with a second disc Live At CBGB’s – an incendiary 10-track live recording of the band taken from the fabled CBGB’s venue in New York.

Thrilled with the response to the reissue of the album and the hugely popular tour, frontman Phil Jamieson has a message for the album: “Happy 20th birthday GTBL! We are so proud you have grown up to be the album we imagined you’d become… it’s such a delight to see the people of Australia wanting to see you live and listen to you on vinyl. Never in our wildest dreams did we expect you to turn out so great – but you did. You must have had some awesome parents! All our love, GSPN.”

The Guide To Better Living Tour will see the band play the album cover to cover across June-September 2017, alongside a selection of later favourites from their albums that followed.

Grinspoon is Phil Jamieson on vocals, Pat Davern on guitar, Joe Hansen on bass and Kristian Hopes on drums.

TEMPUS SUN ANNOUNCES DEBUT SINGLE + VIDEO OWLS

Newcomers and last year’s Bank of Melbourne ‘Melbourne Music Bank’ winners, Tempus Sun have today announced their debut single Owls, an unstoppable powerhouse that is built to embolden listeners and encourage them to discuss their struggles with others, out June 23. The accompanying clip encompasses this completely, making the journey through hardship to come out stronger on the other side. To celebrate, Tempus Sun will be launching the single with a show at The Toff on June 30.

Owls is just one of those songs; it hits you immediately, and doesn’t leave you until long after it is finished. From the gentle acoustic opening, to the crescendo that roars into the final chorus, Tempus Sun have conceived a living, breathing entity, one which offers earnest guidance to the listener: “Speak up, my friend, the time to be heard is now.” Helping to interpret the colossal anthem, lead guitarist Ed Borromeo offers, “Owls is about speaking up about our struggles. It’s a tune relatable to anyone with troubles, be it in the past or ongoing. It was created with mental illness in mind and the intention of influencing people to just have a chat about it with someone. Coming from personal experience, something as simple as having a chat is very easy to disregard as helpful, or is easy to procrastinate on, but I found it to be the first step in combatting almost anything.”

Side by side, the video and track work seamlessly, anchoring the message of Owls assuredly and elegantly. Directed by Edwin Tedjokusumo (Eskimo Joe), the clip boasts epic scenary and stunning underwater shots. Keys player and vocalist from the band Grant Hardisty reflects on the making of the clip, “Our team has really gone to town in producing something visually beautiful, to match the depth and colour in the single. We had a ton of fun driving around the Yarra Valley and searching for filming locations and eventually settled on the beauty of Redwood Forest in Warburton. Combined with a couple of other locations, the story details the positive progression of mental health through the help of something as simple as speaking out.”

Well-deserved winners of 2016’s Melbourne Music Bank competition, Tempus Sun have gratefully reaped the rewards which have enabled them to propel their careers forward like they never could have imagined. Out of hundreds of entries and thousands of public votes, the group took out the top prize which included the EP recording and mixing process, press photos, publicity, radio plugging and much more. Grant enthuses, “Winning Bank of Melbourne’s Melbourne Music Bank was the most exhilarating experience of my life. We entered it on a whim, with an optimistic ‘why not?’ attitude, but we never honestly considered that we’d be a shot. I remember the call so vividly, where I had to leave class to answer and hear the ridiculous news that we had made the Top 12. I replied to Laura on the phone, ‘are you kidding?’ to which she said, ‘that would be a pretty sick joke’!”

The band are set to wow audiences with Owls and much more at their single launch show at The Toff in Town on June 30.

Tempus Sun is Andrew Wortes, Rya Park, Grant Hardisty, Ed Borromeo, Sean Close and Liam Purser.
