GEORGIA FAIR ANNOUNCE RUN OF SHOWS TO PROMOTE NEW ALBUM, TRAPPED FLAME

Australian folk rock duo, Georgia Fair have announced show dates to support the release of their new album, Trapped Flame. Shows are set to kick off at Howler (Melbourne) on November 29 and Hibernian House (Sydney) on November 30 and December 1.
Having just finished up national tours with The Paper Kites and Jae Laffer, Georgia Fair are excited to hit the road for a few headline shows to promote their new material. “Playing live is a big part of our creative calling and is always something that feels worth while and satisfying. Playing on our familiar home turf where we cut our teeth is still a joy and we continue to find more pockets of beauty around the country,” enthuses Wilson.

After showcasing their new material and their evolving, self exploratory, emotive sound on the world stage at SXSW in Austin Texas earlier this year, the band is excited to introduce Australia to the intricacies and beauty of their new album.

Tickets to Howler and Hibernian House shows are available online now and the new album, Trapped Flame is out now through Sony Music Australia.

THE SIREN TOWER ANNOUNCE NEW SINGLE, ‘KING RIVER’ ALONGSIDE NATIONAL TOUR DATES

Perth’s roots-rock powerhouse, The Siren Tower have announced the release of their new single, King River and will be celebrating with a national tour kicking off at The Republic Bar in Hobart on October 24 and moving through to Melbourne (The Espy on October 25), Newcastle (The Great Northern October 31), Sydney (The Beresford November 1), Brisbane (Tempo November 2), finishing off with a homecoming Perth show at Amplifier Bar on November 9.

With their critically acclaimed 2012 debut, A History Of Houses, The Siren Tower reimagined Aus-rock, and in doing so reignited a long latent national sound. Described by Martin Boulton of The Age as “one of the most compelling, distinctly Australian albums in years”, A History Of Houses confirmed The Siren Tower as one of the country’s most electrifying and heartfelt musical arrivals. Now, The Siren Tower release King River, a fervent exploration of the past and one of the shining moments from their debut.

“King River is about returning to familiar places to seek refuge,” explains singer, Grant McCulloch. “It’s about discovering that these places, these ports, they weary with time just as we do. They offer respite, but often their power lies in association with a memory, and sooner or later the world comes knocking.”

King River is accompanied by a vivid and striking film clip directed by Melbourne talent, Tim Brade and bolted together by McCulloch himself. “We’re very hands on across the board, and the visual aspect of the band is no different. We always throw on the producers hat for clips and we often handle the post-production,” says McCulloch.

THE PAPER KITES SELL OUT METRO THEATRE AHEAD OF NATIONAL HEADLINE TOUR COMMENCEMENT

Melbourne folk quintet, The Paper Kites have sold out their August 31 Metro Theatre show in Sydney just a few days before they head off on their national ‘States’ album tour which kicks off in Newcastle this Friday, August 30.
“We’ve been working hard on getting all the new material to a point where we feel like it’s sounding like it should be in a live setting. It’s pretty great for us to be able to play this new music to a sold out Sydney crowd just after releasing the record. It’s definitely our biggest headline show away from home,” says vocalist Sam Bentley.
Upon completion of the national States tour, The Paper Kites will head to America for their first international dates to support City and Colour’s National US tour.
The Paper Kites’ debut album States will be released online and in stores this Friday also and is currently available for pre-order now, with purchasers receiving an instant download of the band’s forthcoming second single, Young when they pre-order the album from iTunes or JB HI FI.
