THE PRESETS KICK OFF INAUGURAL ‘ROTTO LIVE’ ULTIMATE SUNDAY SESSION CONCERT SERIES
Zaccaria Concerts & Touring and Hotel Rottnest have joined forces to launch Rotto Live – the ultimate Sunday session, offering music lovers the memorable experience of seeing the best live music talent performing amid the spectacular surrounds of Perth’s Rottnest Island. Kicking off the inaugural event at WA’s most iconic location is multi award-winning Australian electronic music duo, The Presets who off the back of a hugely successful Australian tour earlier this year will be taking over the island on Sunday December 15.
And the duo cannot wait, exclaiming, “We’re thrilled to kick off the Summer in WA at Hotel Rottnest for the Rotto Live Sunday Sessions on December 15th. Looking forward to seeing you all there!”
Since the late 2000’s, The Presets have been a key influencer on both the Australian and international music scenes, constantly surprising fans with explosive dance hits. The duo’s third and latest album, Pacifica has been nominated for an ARIA this year for Best Dance Release, and is the follow up to their 2008 ARIA Album Of The Year, Apocalypso. The new album debuted at #3 on the ARIA album chart late last year and spent 18 weeks in the ARIA Top 100. The last twelve months has seen The Presets headline Parklife festival and their own sold-out national tour, as well as key timeslots at Splendour in The Grass, Mardi Gras, FBI Radio’s 10th Birthday, and Celebrate Australia Day Broadcast in Canberra.
The band received rave reviews from their recent tour and fans should expect the same from the summer event of the season at Rottnest Island:
“The Presets are well and truly back, and boy do they still have it.” Tone Deaf, 11 Feb 2013
“Presets? The slow burn made you worth the wait. You’re the best. The rest of my live music year has a lot to live up to!” Its My Kind of Scene, 17 Feb 2013.

THE SIREN TOWER ANNOUNCE NEW SINGLE, ‘KING RIVER’ ALONGSIDE NATIONAL TOUR DATES
Perth’s roots-rock powerhouse, The Siren Tower have announced the release of their new single, King River and will be celebrating with a national tour kicking off at The Republic Bar in Hobart on October 24 and moving through to Melbourne (The Espy on October 25), Newcastle (The Great Northern October 31), Sydney (The Beresford November 1), Brisbane (Tempo November 2), finishing off with a homecoming Perth show at Amplifier Bar on November 9.
With their critically acclaimed 2012 debut, A History Of Houses, The Siren Tower reimagined Aus-rock, and in doing so reignited a long latent national sound. Described by Martin Boulton of The Age as “one of the most compelling, distinctly Australian albums in years”, A History Of Houses confirmed The Siren Tower as one of the country’s most electrifying and heartfelt musical arrivals. Now, The Siren Tower release King River, a fervent exploration of the past and one of the shining moments from their debut.
“King River is about returning to familiar places to seek refuge,” explains singer, Grant McCulloch. “It’s about discovering that these places, these ports, they weary with time just as we do. They offer respite, but often their power lies in association with a memory, and sooner or later the world comes knocking.”
King River is accompanied by a vivid and striking film clip directed by Melbourne talent, Tim Brade and bolted together by McCulloch himself. “We’re very hands on across the board, and the visual aspect of the band is no different. We always throw on the producers hat for clips and we often handle the post-production,” says McCulloch.
THE PAPER KITES SELL OUT METRO THEATRE AHEAD OF NATIONAL HEADLINE TOUR COMMENCEMENT
Melbourne folk quintet, The Paper Kites have sold out their August 31 Metro Theatre show in Sydney just a few days before they head off on their national ‘States’ album tour which kicks off in Newcastle this Friday, August 30.
“We’ve been working hard on getting all the new material to a point where we feel like it’s sounding like it should be in a live setting. It’s pretty great for us to be able to play this new music to a sold out Sydney crowd just after releasing the record. It’s definitely our biggest headline show away from home,” says vocalist Sam Bentley.
Upon completion of the national States tour, The Paper Kites will head to America for their first international dates to support City and Colour’s National US tour.
The Paper Kites’ debut album States will be released online and in stores this Friday also and is currently available for pre-order now, with purchasers receiving an instant download of the band’s forthcoming second single, Young when they pre-order the album from iTunes or JB HI FI.
