SPRING LOADED ADDS TWO MAMMOTH SHOWS EATONS HILL OUTDOORS (BRIS) AND SIDNEY MYER MUSIC BOWL (MEL)
Off the back of the blockbuster success that was the sold out Bribie Island Spring Loaded event on the weekend and Sydney’s absolute crowd pleaser last month, Empire Touring is elated to announce two new mammoth Spring Loaded shows set to storm Eatons Hill Outdoors (Brisbane) on Saturday 13 November and the iconic Sidney Myer Music Bowl (Melbourne) on Saturday 4 December. There will be an exclusive presale available from 10am AEST Monday 28 June and tickets go on sale to the general public at 10am AEST Wednesday June 30.
With ten shows set to have rocked around the country before the year is out, Spring Loaded has well and truly declared a triumphant return to live music. The colossal lineup dripping in 90s Aussie alt rock nostalgia boasts a haul of the decade’s most celebrated acts including Grinspoon, Regurgitator, You Am I, Jebediah, Custard, Magic Dirt, The Meanies, The Fauves, Screamfeeder and MC Lindsay ‘The Doctor’ McDougall.
And making every effort to squeeze more rock into the already larger-than-life lineups, Tumbleweed have just been added to both the Gosford and Adelaide events.
Due to the evolving Covid19 circumstances and with multiple bands based in Greater Melbourne, continued border closures & SA Health restrictions, the Adelaide show that was set to take place this weekend has been bumped to Saturday 6 November. All tickets purchased for the original date will remain valid for the rescheduled date, without need for exchange.
The man who masterminded this bodacious opportunity for us all to relive our youth and celebrate the return of live music, Empire’s Marc Christowski is thrilled with the two new event additions, saying, “With two Spring Loaded shows under our belts I can definitely say that this show is all killer and no filler, every act gives 110% and everyone who’s attended leaves with a massive smile on their faces, bring it on!”
Covering all bases, the festival will be bustling with craft beer and an enviable collection of the locale’s cherry-picked food trucks. Spring Loaded is a fully licensed 18+ event, strictly no BYO food or alcohol. The shows are outdoor concerts and will go ahead rain, hail or shine. No tables, tents, sun shelters or umbrellas are permitted, punters are urged to bring ponchos/raincoats and gumboots if rain is forecast. Picnic rugs and low camp chairs are permitted, as are sealed bottles of water, and there will be water refill stations. And this killer event will be taken indoors to Adelaide – expect all the festival vibes with no weather issues.
After an unprecedented write off for live music in 2020, don’t miss this opportunity to celebrate the return of the festival and the greatest era of the indie alt rock scene in Australia, and come and relive the soundtrack of your youth, live at Spring Loaded in 2021!
VIP tickets will be available for the Just Ace Place VIP Bar offering a premium viewing area, exclusive VIP entry, private bar and food area.
The Spring Loaded festival dates will be held with a commitment to a COVID Safe environment. Festival organisers will work closely with and comply with all requirements of the public health authorities in respect of these shows. If any shows are required to be postponed, a postponement date will be announced and punters will be eligible for a full refund if they are unable to make the new date.

ARCHIE ROACH ANNOUNCES REGIONAL NSW TOUR
Iconic Australian artist Archie Roach AM continues to take his music and message on the road, today announcing a run of shows through regional NSW this August as part of his ‘Tell Me Why’ tour. Tickets go on sale 9am Friday 18 June from https://www.archieroach.com/tour
Taking in everywhere from Byron Bay down to Dubbo, the tour will also include a special appearance at the Byron Writers Festival. The tour announcement comes following a recent stunning series of performances through regional Victoria.
Archie explains though that heading to Bundjalung country in Northern NSW will always have special meaning for him.
“I really love connecting with audiences in regional communities and it’s going to be particularly special to tour around Bundjalung country, where my father was from, with shows in Lismore and Grafton in particular,” Archie says. “Performing in smaller regional venues feels more intimate. I think the audiences understand a little more about what it is I talk and sing about; how community can be strong and there for each other as community should.”
The new tour comes as something of a relief for both Archie and his dedicated community of fans around the country. 2020 was meant to be a landmark year as it marked the 30th anniversary of his multi award winning debut album ‘Charcoal Lane’ – considered one of the most important ever produced in this country.
It was also the year that Archie would embark on his final national tour giving countless dedicated fans the chance to connect with him one last time. However, when the COVID pandemic hit, it put a stop to that final tour. His return to the stage earlier this year has been an important reminder of the power and emotion his shows are built around.
As The Age put it, “Roach is one of this country’s most important and treasured singer-songwriters. Through his songs he has educated this country on the history of Aboriginal experience and the injustice and desecration of his people and land. His profoundly spiritual presence would capivate for the next hour-and-a-half in imparting a deeply personal and moving on-stage memoir of his life.”
Tell Me Why, the title of his award winning memoir (Simon and Schuster) and companion album, is an intimate, moving and often confronting account of his resilience and strength of spirit, and also of a great love story. It’s an extraordinary odyssey of love and heartbreak, family and community, survival and renewal – and the healing power of music.
Archie voices the joy, pain and hope he found on his path through these songs to become this country’s foremost First Nations singer-songwriter and storyteller that he is today – beloved and respected by fans the world over.
Through the past year he has also turned his attention online creating his powerful and insightful ‘Kitchen Table Yarns’ series that went to air on his YouTube channel. Streamed online from his kitchen table on his mother’s Gunditjmara ancestral lands in south west Victoria, the weekly series of episodes have celebrated the songs and stories behind Charcoal Lane. Archie is soon to announce a continuation of this series where he’ll talk to young emerging First Nations singer songwriters from across Australia, stay tuned.
