SPRING LOADED ADDS TWO MAMMOTH SHOWS EATONS HILL OUTDOORS (BRIS) AND SIDNEY MYER MUSIC BOWL (MEL)
Off the back of the blockbuster success that was the sold out Bribie Island Spring Loaded event on the weekend and Sydney’s absolute crowd pleaser last month, Empire Touring is elated to announce two new mammoth Spring Loaded shows set to storm Eatons Hill Outdoors (Brisbane) on Saturday 13 November and the iconic Sidney Myer Music Bowl (Melbourne) on Saturday 4 December. There will be an exclusive presale available from 10am AEST Monday 28 June and tickets go on sale to the general public at 10am AEST Wednesday June 30.
With ten shows set to have rocked around the country before the year is out, Spring Loaded has well and truly declared a triumphant return to live music. The colossal lineup dripping in 90s Aussie alt rock nostalgia boasts a haul of the decade’s most celebrated acts including Grinspoon, Regurgitator, You Am I, Jebediah, Custard, Magic Dirt, The Meanies, The Fauves, Screamfeeder and MC Lindsay ‘The Doctor’ McDougall.
And making every effort to squeeze more rock into the already larger-than-life lineups, Tumbleweed have just been added to both the Gosford and Adelaide events.
Due to the evolving Covid19 circumstances and with multiple bands based in Greater Melbourne, continued border closures & SA Health restrictions, the Adelaide show that was set to take place this weekend has been bumped to Saturday 6 November. All tickets purchased for the original date will remain valid for the rescheduled date, without need for exchange.
The man who masterminded this bodacious opportunity for us all to relive our youth and celebrate the return of live music, Empire’s Marc Christowski is thrilled with the two new event additions, saying, “With two Spring Loaded shows under our belts I can definitely say that this show is all killer and no filler, every act gives 110% and everyone who’s attended leaves with a massive smile on their faces, bring it on!”
Covering all bases, the festival will be bustling with craft beer and an enviable collection of the locale’s cherry-picked food trucks. Spring Loaded is a fully licensed 18+ event, strictly no BYO food or alcohol. The shows are outdoor concerts and will go ahead rain, hail or shine. No tables, tents, sun shelters or umbrellas are permitted, punters are urged to bring ponchos/raincoats and gumboots if rain is forecast. Picnic rugs and low camp chairs are permitted, as are sealed bottles of water, and there will be water refill stations. And this killer event will be taken indoors to Adelaide – expect all the festival vibes with no weather issues.
After an unprecedented write off for live music in 2020, don’t miss this opportunity to celebrate the return of the festival and the greatest era of the indie alt rock scene in Australia, and come and relive the soundtrack of your youth, live at Spring Loaded in 2021!
VIP tickets will be available for the Just Ace Place VIP Bar offering a premium viewing area, exclusive VIP entry, private bar and food area.
The Spring Loaded festival dates will be held with a commitment to a COVID Safe environment. Festival organisers will work closely with and comply with all requirements of the public health authorities in respect of these shows. If any shows are required to be postponed, a postponement date will be announced and punters will be eligible for a full refund if they are unable to make the new date.

ANNOUNCES NATIONAL TOMORROWLAND TOUR + NEW ALBUM TOMORROWLAND RELEASED TODAY
Beloved Australian singer songwriter, Bob Evans has today released his anticipated sixth studio album Tomorrowland, a glorious record written about the passage of time, and the mystery of the past and the future. The album drops alongside the announce of a national Tomorrowland tour set to go large through June with 14 shows around Aus, kicking off at Kingscliff Beach Hotel on June 3 before making its way to Queensland to play Brisbane and Noosaville, South Australia to play Adelaide, Western Australia for Perth and Margaret River, NSW for Bulli, Newcastle, Sydney, Forbes and Cronulla, and finishing in Victoria to hit Belgrave and Castlemaine before wrapping at The Northcote Social Club on June 26. The tour will be supported by Siobhan Cotchin (excluding Frost & Fire and Castlemaine). Tickets are on sale now from www.bobevans.com.au/tour.
Bob Evans is the ARIA-winning alter ego of Jebediah frontman Kevin Mitchell who has graced the Australian music scene for more than two decades and has written some of the country’s most adored songs. With an extensive back catalogue of well-crafted songs full of meaningful, considered lyrics buoyed by that familiar voice, it’s safe to say the latest Bob Evans offering is in sync. Mitchell poignantly explains, “I found that many of the songs and the lyrics I was writing were tied up in and wrapped around time. The album starts with a song called ‘Born Yesterday’, which is about feeling nostalgic for my early adulthood and ends with a song called ‘End of the Day’, which is about the troubling uncertainty I feel about the future and how I reconcile that with being a parent of young children. So I found that most of the songs are dealing with the mystery of the past and the future in some kind of way. In many ways the past is as much a mystery as the unknown future. Memories are funny things and our perspective on the past is constantly changing with time and as we age.”
Over five albums, Bob Evans has cemented his place in Australia as being the acoustic melody king, the folk/rock alternative whose songs became favourites, then beloved and finally classics. Tomorrowland was born during the Covid19 global pandemic, a turbulent time full of great uncertainty for every human the world over, but the result is euphoric, sparkling – a luminescent rock record from an unstoppable songsmith. “Every time an album is released it feels special, a small but significant accomplishment. This one feels a little extra than normal though, having been born out of such tumultuous times,” explains Mitchell. “I’ve never waited so long between the studio and release day before which was hard because I knew I was sitting on something good and I’m just so glad people are finally hearing it. I went into recording this album feeling refreshed, as if I was beginning a whole new chapter for Bob Evans, one with more electric guitars, a live band actually playing live in a room together and not fussing over perfection but striving for feel. There are influences and production aesthetics that I have never brought in to my world before and the end result is one that I’m immensely proud of as being a record unlike any I’ve made before.”
And Kevin Mitchell is thrilled at the idea of getting back on stages to play for fans around the country, performing a bunch of tracks from the new record and of course all the longstanding fan faves too. “I didn’t want this record to be released without any shows to back it up, so we waited and waited and now finally the coast looks at least clear enough to be able to announce a ‘Tomorrowland’ tour that is COVID safe and gets to visit a bunch of cities in different states of Australia,” says Mitchell. “I feel like this tour is going to be celebrating not just ‘Tomorrowland’ but also the joy of being able to go to shows again and experience that strange undying love we all have for a sticky carpet, perhaps a drink or two and someone on stage singing songs and telling tall stories!”
Tomorrowland is out now via Dew Process.
Tickets to the Tomorrowland tour are on sale now from www.bobevans.com.au/tour.

NATIONAL TOUR PROCEEDING AS SCHEDULED IN JUNE/JULY + SHOWS IN SYD / MEL / ADE / PER NOW TO BE FULLY SEATED FULL + NEWCASTLE SHOW ADDED DUE TO FAN DEMAND + SOPHOMORE ALBUM ‘CRY FOREVER’ FOR APRIL 30 RELEASE
Homegrown multi ARIA award winning, singer-songwriter Amy Shark has today emphatically confirmed that her Cry Forever national tour will proceed as scheduled in June/July and also announced that a brand new Newcastle Entertainment Centre show on Friday 11 June will be added due to the huge demand from local Newcastle fans. Tickets will go on sale for the Newcastle show at 11am on Friday 16 April from www.amyshark.com.
In what will be one of the first arena tours globally since COVID-19 struck last year, Amy has committed to deliver for her fans and do whatever it takes for the national Cry Forever tour to go ahead as scheduled. To do so, fully reserved seating will be implemented at Amy’s shows in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth, with existing ticketholders able to convert their standing floor tickets to allocated seats on the floor. And fans will be happy to know that the shows will feature full arena production for what will be a true world class event.
“It’s been a very hard time for live music, both for artists and fans, with many tours having to postpone or cancel for reasons out of their control. This album is very important to me, so making these shows happen is my number one priority. I know you have been looking forward to this tour and these shows as much as I have, so we have made some changes which has involved converting the standing floor tickets to reserved seating at some of the shows to ensure we are aligned with the COVID-safe guidelines. By making these changes, it means the shows will go ahead,” explains Amy. “I was willing to do whatever it took to get this tour on the road. I’m so excited to play my biggest shows to date and am currently putting together a rather impressive show for you!”
The CRY FOREVER tour will be Amy Shark’s most ambitious live undertaking yet in some of the largest venues Australia has to offer, delivering a brand new show with A1 production and musicianship that is set to bring her new album to life. Armed with a bunch of new songs and some impressive ARIA wins (including ‘Best Australian Live Act’ which she picked up for her last tour, along with ‘Best Pop Release’ for ‘Everybody Rise’), the Gold Coast local is no stranger to the big stage and sure knows how to put on an impressive show, and with support from exciting newcomers Evie Irie and Teenage Joans – this is a tour not to be missed.
The tour will now kick off at Newcastle Entertainment Centre on June 11, before moving to Qudos Bank Arena (Sydney) on June 12, Rod Laver Arena (Melbourne) on June 18, Wrest Point Lawns (Hobart) June 19, HOTA (Gold Coast) June 25, Riverstage (Brisbane) June 26, Adelaide Entertainment Centre July 1 and will finish up in Perth at RAC Arena on July 3.
Set for release later this month, the new album CRY FOREVER is the follow up to Amy Shark’s 2018 #1 ARIA Album Of The Year, LOVE MONSTER and is available to pre-order now via Wonderlick/Sony Music Entertainment. Written and recorded between the US, UK, New Zealand and Shark’s home studio on the Gold Coast, her exceptional songwriting is on full display here, co-producing with A-List producers: Dann Hume (ARIA 2018 & 2019 Producer Of The year), M-Phazes (Ruel, Eminem), Joel Little (Lorde, Taylor Swift), Jamie Hartman (Lewis Capaldi, Rag ‘n’ Bone Man), Dan Wilson (Adele, Leon Bridges) and Sammy Witte (Harry Styles, King Princess).
Tickets to the CRY FOREVER tour are on sale now from www.amyshark.com with the exclusion of Newcastle Entertainment Centre which will go on sale at 11am on Friday April 16. The tour will be held with a commitment to a COVID Safe environment. TEG LIVE will work closely with and comply with all requirements of the public health authorities in respect of these shows.
CRY FOREVER is set for release on April 30, 2021 and is available to pre-order now via Wonderlick/Sony Music Entertainment Australia.
