BANK OF MELBOURNE ANNOUNCES 12 VICTORIAN ‘MELBOURNE MUSIC BANK’ FINALISTS

Greatly impressed by the depth and talent of Victorian’s music artists, Bank of Melbourne today announced the twelve finalists of the 2015 Melbourne Music Bank . The public are now invited to vote for their favourite. The four with the most votes will perform at Melbourne’s Arts Centre on October 8, with the winner judged by a panel of industry experts.

The twelve finalists span genres including indie folk, pop, hip-hop, alt rock and electro. Demonstrating this diversity and the quality of talent coming from all regions of Victoria, our twelve finalists are: Anna Cordell from Ivanhoe, Arctic Maps from Preston, DL from Narre Warren, Feelds from Alphington, Imogen Brough from Geelong, Jade Alice from Viewbank, Kudzai from Narre Warren, Milo from Breamlea, Napier from Essendon, Playwrite from Northcote, Sam O’Connell from Mt Martha and Sarah May from Bonnie Doon.

Public voting is open from today until September 27 and voters can share in fantastic weekly prizes, including Spotify vouchers and ticket giveaways. To learn more about the finalists, listen to their songs and cast a vote, visit bankofmelbourne.com.au/melbmusicbank

“We were thrilled to receive triple the number of submissions this year, which confirms to us the incredible amount of talent out there. This further spurs our excitement and makes us proud to continue to support the music makers of Victoria,” says Jac Phillips, Bank of Melbourne’s Head of Brand & Marketing.

In July, Melbourne Music Bank asked Victorian musicians and bands to submit an original song for a chance at the prize – a toolkit for success, comprising: two days of recording at Melbourne’s famous Sing Sing studios, a film clip by Oh Yeah Wow, album artwork, printed CDs and the chance of having the winning song featured in a Bank of Melbourne TV ad. This year’s prize also includes the services of a dedicated A-team of the industry’s finest including management and mentoring by Chris Robinson, publicity by On The Map PR, radio plugging by Varrasso PR and gig bookings by 123 Agency.
